Over his artistic career, Wright has chronicled daily life in Washington, DC. Among one of his favorite subjects was the National Mall. He depicted many different scenes, in all seasons, of life on the Mall. “My world is the everyday people, coming and going, who have interplay with the city,” says Wright. For Wright, the National Mall served as a place of community, where people from all walks of life gathered by the historic monuments of the city.
